Local singer set to release CD
“(A Different) State of Mind”
Published: Tuesday, August 2, 2011 11:25 PM CDT
GLADWIN “ Hometown singer, Chris Hale, along with Tate Music Group, is set to release his latest album, "(A Different) State Of Mind", on Aug. 9.
The CD contains three new original songs, "Second Chance" (co-written by his mom, J.E. Hale), "Don't Give Up" and the title track.
"I am very excited about this project, my most personal yet,” said Hale.
Music on these three songs was done by good friend and colleague, Eddie K. in Nashville. The Cd has a 'Country' feel to it so it is being marketed as "Christian Country". TMG Records is also in the process of releasing the first single, "A Line In the Sand" to radio stations across the country! Start calling your favorite Country, Gospel, or local station and request his song and ask for them to put it on their rotation or "play-list".
Tate Music artist manager, Kortney Shepherd states, "Chris Hale's tenor range drives God's message of love and forgiveness into the hearts and minds of listeners with a sound similar to Josh Wilson, Chris Tomlin and Steven Curtis Chapman, on his new album, (A Different) State of Mind."
TMG Records and Chris will host a CD Signing Celebration at Cook Christian Supply, Aug. 13 from 12-2 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant. Come on out and show your support by getting your personalized copy of Chris' Cd for just $13, or you can order it through www.tatemusicgroup.com/christopherhale.There will be a church van from the Gladwin Free Methodist Church going to share in the celebration. If you would like to ride to Mt. Pleasant with them call the church office at 989-426-8441 for space availability and departure time.
Hale was honored to sing the National Anthem recently for the motorcycle races at the Gladwin County Fairgrounds. Chris has several concerts coming up in the month of August around the state. From county fairs, worship on the shore of Lake Huron, to the Mint Festival in St. Johns, Chris will be doing a lot of traveling sharing his music.

Quarterly – Spring 2011
Happy Easter;
This is my first attempt at a “quarterly” newsletter letter and will strive to keep you up-to-date. This will also be posted on my website. God is doing great things in our lives musically.
In February my wife and I went to Oklahoma where we visited the Tate Music Group studios and met many of the people that work there. We spent a week recording – ending it with a professional photo shoot and much sight-seeing! How different it is working with a record label instead of doing this on my own! It is refreshing, yet hard for me to hand over the reigns to someone else. The 8 song project will include 4 brand new songs, “(A Different) State Of Mind”, “Don’t Give Up”, “Second Chance” (co-written with my mom, J.E. Hale), and the upbeat “Praise You”, written by my good friends in Nashville, Tom Paden & Eddie Kilgallon. Tom was my producer on “Reflection” and Eddie was the recording engineer for several songs on “Reflection”. Eddie, a Christian brother, graciously provided music on the new songs I wrote capturing the very essence of each message! The Cd will also include 4 songs previously recorded that Tate Music deemed worthy of promoting.
I am now in the “waiting” period of production. The record label will do the mixing and preparing the songs for radio and then send them to me for approval. The graphic design team is hard at work planning and developing a Cd cover - again sending it to me for final approval. We are looking at probably June before the new album is ready for market at which time the record label, and myself, will promote, promote, and promote! I will send you a notice when the Cd is ready!!
I am not sitting still while waiting! I am constantly looking for places to sing (please watch flyers/ads for concert engagements) and even with the record label backing me I still need each of you!! Without your support and encouragement, there is no singing!
During all of this, I had the distinct pleasure of re-ordering “The Light of Day”. It has been 10 years since I started recording this album, so in celebration of this milestone, the cd has a face-lift! It now has a new cover and the songs have been re-mastered/engineered to today’s quality standards! It looks and sounds great and still going strong!
Thank you for your support & God Bless;
Until next time,
Chris Hale

Spared from Harm: THE POWER OF PRAYER!
-
February 22, 2011
Coming home from recording in Oklahoma and visiting our daughter and son-in-law-to-be in Iowa on Sunday, Feb. 20th, proved to be an adventure my wife and I won't forget! Our 8.5 hour trip turned into 15 hours as the weather decided to play an aweful trick on us. While in Oklahoma, the temps were in the 70's and one day hit 80 degress! Beautiful!! But, as we arrived in Michigan from Iowa, the rain turned to ice, to slush, to snow!! Instead of traveling the 70 mph on the expressway, we didn't get above 40mph. Three times God showed up and protected us!
The first instance, happened on the expressway when a vehicle ahead of us turned sideways in the road. I had slowed down to avoid a collision and spun sideways, with the rear end of our van sliding around and stopping right at the edge of a STEEP ditch lined with trees! We were braced for the uncontrollable motion thinking briefly of tipping over!! Oncoming traffic did not hit us! I was able to drive out of that situation. The first sign that GOD PROTECTED US with the power of prayer!
The second instance happened while my wife, Roxanne, was driving (she and I took turns driving as our stress level was elevated!). We got off at an exit to switch drivers and stretch our legs, when upon turning into a gas station, we again spun sideways spining into the oncoming traffic lane - no traffic! Needles to say we didn't switch drivers at that time! GOD PROTECTED US with the power of prayer!
The third instance happened, when we did finally switch again (me driving) we were entering the expressway at the on-ramp. Slowing down as to not spin or slide when approching the on-ramp, once again we spun sideways, sliding around into the oncoming traffic lane and just missing the guard-rail within inches of contact! No traffic to hit us!! GOD had indeed protected us again from harm! Power of prayer!
So.....if you think prayer doesn't work, or that God doesn't listen, this is PROOF that He does listen. He hears every word we speak. When we are faithful to God, He is faithful to us!!

While on our recent trip to Oklahoma City to record my new cd, "(A Different) State Of Mind", my wife Roxanne and I went sight-seeing yesterday to the downtown area of Oklahoma City, called "Bricktown". We had just parked the van and put money into the parking meter when a African American couple went by on the sidewalk. We politely exchanged "hello's" and went on our way.
We walked around for about 1 1/2 hours and decided to go into a particular gift shop. Upon browsing, we quickly realized it was out of our shopping range. When we exited the gift shop and started down the sidewalk, ahead of us was the same couple we met earlier. I had mentioned this to Roxanne and the gentleman quickly turned around and asked if I was a pastor. Quite surprised by his question, I said yes, and asked how we could help them.
The next words out of his mouth were, "praise the lord, we had just prayed for a pastor to come into our path that could help us out"! He went on to explain that they were from Tulsa, OK and were trying to get back home when their car broke down. He showed us the reciept for the part he just bought, $166.00, and now had no gas money. All he asked for was enough to buy 5 gallons of gas to get back to Tulsa. I gave him the money and they praised God again, and asked if we could pray together! (I was thinking it, he said it!). So, the four of us prayed together, right there on the streets of Oklahoma City!!
Roxanne then told them that we were from Michigan, and this gentleman reminded us that God's church is what happens outside the walls of the place we worship, sometimes in another state!!
"PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW"!
